ReLPI aims to advocate for the interests of recorded music industry.

Our Core Objectives

To further the interests of, and act as the collective voice for the Nigerian recording industry on issues of policy and engagement with commercial music users, regulators, government, trade associations, etc.

To ensure the alignment of the Nigerian market to changing global market conditions and maintain healthy relationships with other copyright organizations locally and internationally, including collective management organisations/music licensing companies.

To establish, audit, verify and award sales certifications in Nigeria.

To provide continuous training and upskilling to our members

To advocate, lobby and support legislations and regulations that promote and enhance the business of recorded music in Nigeria and promotes the interests of our members

To establish Nigerian music awards that would reward hard work, creativity and investment in the recorded music industry.

To establish best practices within the Nigerian recording industry and monitor adherence thereto.

To establish and maintain a database of International Standard Recording Code (ISRC) for all releases by phonogram producers in Nigeria In line with the IFPI regulations.

To work with IFPI in establishing in Nigeria official music chart.

To serve as a data center with respect to trends, statistics, new developments and the state of the global recorded music industry.

To provide a strong platform for members to discuss and resolve matters of common interest

To collaborate with music business academies in the training and re-training of members and personnel on copyright, neighbouring rights and recorded music business.
